Mission
Optex is dedicated to bringing quantifiable improvements to your extrusion process. We work with our clients to measure and understand their film and continuous extrusion operations and determine conditions to optimize the process quality and productivity.
Method
The principal members of Optex bring more than 40 years of extrusion machinery design, operation, and process experience to your support in your continuous extrusion production. In addition, we are supported by a network of colleagues and businesses that allow us to offer a tailored solution to your extrusion production needs. We can start with process analysis including equipment and process audits to find bottlenecks and opportunities for productivity improvements. If there are existing process problems, these methods can be used to troubleshoot the process and isolate and resolve the problem. Compuplast VEL™ simulation software may be used to further analyze the process and interactions to determine the optimum solution.
If equipment upgrades are indicated, Optex can provide support in a variety of ways providing design and manufacture of extruder feedscrews and process flow components. We can also facilitate the development of detailed equipment specifications, the solicitation of bids, and comparative evaluations of offerings. We have strong relationships with a wide variety of OEM’s and used equipment brokers worldwide.
Our experience has taught us that processes work best when they are well understood, process conditions are accurately measured, and reliable records are maintained. We provide start up assistance on new processes and detailed hands on operator and technician training tailored to the specific process needs and equipment used. These can be delivered in a classroom environment with supporting interactive hands on training in the field. Programs offered can also be implemented through an interactive self paced multimedia computer program. The implementation of training is custom developed around the equipment, process, and requirements of the client.
In 2009 Optex brings on-line a co-extrusion coating laboratory. This facility is available to our clients for product development, materials analysis, demonstration and training.
